Welcome to EM Training
EM Training leads the EM Direct Group in managing and delivering all Training and Development Agency for schools (TDA) contracts.
If you are interested in becoming a teacher then we can offer you the opportunity to experience teaching by coming on a Teaching Taster Course or, if you are still studying for a BA/BSc, postgraduate degree, HND or Foundation Degree joining the Student Associate Scheme.
Once you have made your mind up to train to be a teacher, the Employment Based Training Route of the Graduate Teacher Programme could be the ideal training route for you. This one year full time training programme combines the benefits of centre based and school based training, with being employed as a trainee teacher at a school.
Training to be a teacher may also require enhancing your subject knowledge in certain areas. Our Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses run during the year and can be integrated into an initial teacher training programme.
Qualified Primary and Secondary Teachers who have had a career break and are now looking to return to the profession, can refresh skills and update knowledge by attending a Return to Teaching Course. These 10 week intensive courses will ensure a smooth and now successful return to the classroom. And you are even paid a training bursary to attend these courses.
If you are teaching Mathematics in a secondary school and you do not hold a degree in Mathematics, nor was your initial teacher training in Mathematics, then the TDA funded Mathematics Development Programme will enhance your Maths teaching skills and you get the opportunity to gain an Honours Level Qualification in Mathematics accredited by York St John University.
For Teaching Assistants working in schools in the East Midlands looking to achieve Higher Level Teaching Assistant Status, we run 3 day Preparation and 12 day Modular Training Programmes to prepare you for Assessment against the HLTA Standards. You will be Assessed for HLTA Status by the University of Northampton, who is the Regional Provider for HLTA Assessment.
