Whatever your language specialism(s), however recent or distant your graduation, this course is designed to give you practical, up-to-date advice to enable you to progress smoothly onto your secondary ML ITT course. Current classroom provision will be investigated including such topics as use of the target language, narrowing the gender gap, strategies for incorporating ICT and what’s on offer from the exam boards from A-level to various forms of alternative accreditation.

There will be ample time to become familiar with the current legislation on ML entitlement across all Key Stages, with a focus on Primary ML and Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 transition. The role of ML in the wider school curriculum will also be examined via discussion of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), cross-curricular activities and projects with schools abroad. Useful links for language-specific support as regards CPD, resources and cultural input etc will also be provided.
