Are you a Service Leaver who needs a challenging next career where you really can make a difference? Do you enjoy working with young people and sharing your knowledge, skills and expertise? Then why not consider a career in schools when you leave the armed services.
The White Paper "The Importance of Teaching" affirms the Government's commitment to develop a 'Troops to Teachers' programme to support Service Leavers wishing to make the transition to teaching through early intervention and support on a training route matched to their needs. The 'Troops to Teachers' policy sits firmly alongside the Government aim of recruiting the best and most able into the teaching profession.
EM Direct has, for the last 3 years, been working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) on promoting careers in schools and been a key contact point for enquiries. In addition we have seen a number of Service Leavers commence teacher training on our own Graduate Teacher Programme in schools in various parts of the country.
If you don't want to teach then other careers in schools are available including School Business Manager, Teaching Assistant, Technicians or Administration.
In these pages you will find out a little more about the Government proposals and how EM Direct can help you enter a career in schools at the moment.
