Welcome to EM ORBITAL, the EM Direct E-Learning Zone. ORBITAL has been established as online support for trainees and participants on various EM Direct training programmes. By registering to use ORBITAL to support your training you can explore our Subject Knowledge Hubs, Frequently Asked Questions Zone, Employment and Training Zone and Latest News Zone. Our GTP Trainees and EYPS Candidates can also access a secure zone for specific information relating to their initial teacher training or EYPS programmes.

Each hub is made up of numerous subject knowledge support materials. These may include knowledge evaluation activities, subject knowledge audits, examples of lesson plans, reading lists, web links and more.

Employment and Training Zone
Whether you are in the process of training to work in the education profession, applying for your first job in the education industry, already working in a school or an education setting, or returning to the profession after a career break this section is full of documents, further information and links for you.

Subject Knowledge Hubs
These provide useful information and links relating to all the EYPS standards, including knowledge and understanding, effective practice, relationships with children, communicating and working in partnership, teamwork and collaboration and professional development. Information is also provided that is specific to child development and pedagogy across the age ranges 0 - 20 months, 16 - 36 months and 30 - 60months.
Training Zone
The training zone provides the training timetable and venue details, training course presentations, notes and tasks, portfolio and tutorial guidance.
