We aim to provide the highest quality training and consultancy services to organisations and individuals involved in education and child care, working in partnership with them to achieve their goals.
Our Experience Is Our Track Record
Our Directors, Heads of Service and Senior Professional Staff have substantial experience as headteachers, teachers, local authority officers or advisers, so have a comprehensive understanding of the requirement for continuing professional development, and meeting the personal training needs of staff employed in today’s schools and child care settings.
- We have a network of 50 Consultants based in the East Midlands and North of England which supplements our experienced Head Office team located in Grantham.
Government Contracts
EM Direct has been contracted by the TDA since 1999 to deliver a range of contracts which have been successfully renewed on each occasion:
- TDA Accredited Provider for the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP). Our allocation for 2009/2010 is 119 places. The partnership includes 8 Local Authorities, and a number of local school consortia.
- Five year contract as a CWDC approved provider of Training and Assessment for Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) in the East Midlands and the Yorkshire and Humber Regions.
- TDA Regional Provider of Assessment (2006 - 2009) (in partnership with the University of Northampton) for Higher Level Teaching Assistant Status in the East Midlands, and approved provider of Preparation and Training.
- TDA Provider (2008 to 2011) for the Student Associate Scheme across the East Midlands, East Yorkshire and Tees Valley. 156 places available for 2009/2010.
- Highly successful Return to Teaching Courses (TDA funded contract 2009 to 2012) run in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln (80 courses and over 1,000 teachers retrained to date).
- Extensive TDA funded Teaching Taster Course programme (13 courses planned to run between June 2009 and March 2010).
- TDA provider of Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses in Maths, Physics and Chemistry
- TDA contract to deliver the Mathematics Development Programme for Teachers (2009/2011), in partnership with York St John University.
- TDA Pilot provider of training for people without QTS to become "One to One Tutors" in primary and secondary schools (2009 Ð 2010).
Local Authority and School Consultancy
- Bespoke Training and Educational Consultancy Services meeting the needs of individual schools and Local Authorities.
- Consultancy for Halton Local Authority for reorganisation of the School Improvement Service.
- Management of the Advanced Skills Teacher Programme for the East Riding of Yorkshire Local Authority (2004 – 2008).
Training and Courses
- Provision of Courses for CfBT School Improvement Service for Teachers and Teaching Assistants in Lincolnshire and Rutland.
- Partnership Agreements with Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, NE Lincolnshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Barnsley, Hartlepool and City of York Local Authorities.
- Preferred Supplier to the Career Transition Partnership supporting resettlement of service personnel into new careers in teaching and early years.
- Professional Training Centre used by local authorities, other public sector organisations and many companies for the delivery of their training courses
