Full Training Pathway
EM Direct has been awarded a 5 year contract with the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) as a provider of funded training and assessment for Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) in the Government Office regions of the East Midlands and Yorkshire & the Humber.
This pathway accommodates the needs of candidates with graduate level qualifications and, typically, very limited relevant experience with 0-5 year olds. It is appropriate for those not currently working with the 0-5 age range. Since this is a full-time pathway a training bursary of £5,000 is available for successful applicants.
Typical Candidates:
- Candidates with a degree with a link to Early Years. E.g. Degree in psychology with a major study in Child Development Knowledge of child development with some observation of, or research on, 0-5 year olds.
- Candidates with QTS for the secondary age-range.
- Those with broad or vocational degrees, such as in health or the social sciences, which may include some study of child care and Development, with some contact with children.
- Holders of other Ordinary or Honours degrees.
Training Provision:
Successful candidates would follow a 9 month personalised training programme prior to assessment to include:
- Personal study and assignments.
- A programme of study based upon Knowledge of Child development and professional practice for the 0-5 age range (See below for course content for first 3 months)
- Extended placements in a variety of settings covering the 0-5.
- Support from a designated professional mentor etc.
