As a Registered Body with the Criminal Records Bureau since 2002 and an Umbrella Body since 2007, EM Direct has extensive experience in processing CRB Disclosure application forms. What is a CRB disclosure?

A CRB disclosure is a document containing information held by the police and government departments and is used by employers and voluntary organisations to make safer recruitment decisions.

Who needs a CRB disclosure?

You must have a valid reason to be checked, for example, you work with children or vulnerable adults, you work with confidential information or it is a contractual requirement. This also applies if you are self-employed or already working for a company or organisation, including voluntary work.

Are there different types of disclosure?

Yes, there are two types:

  • Standard CRB Disclosure
  • Enhanced CRB Disclosure

Anyone who has regular contact with children and/or vulnerable adults in their working environment must have an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.

How much does EM Direct charge for a CRB Disclosure?

The total costs are inclusive of VAT, no hidden extras to pay.

*The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) Adult First check searches the Department of Health’s list of people who it bars from working with vulnerable adults. Those employing people to posts that involve working with vulnerable adults may be able to request a check of the Vulnerable Adults’ Barred list. ISA Adult First checks are in addition to an Enhanced Disclosure and can only be applied for if you submit a CRB disclosure application.

Payment is required in full upon receipt of the relevant Disclosure Application form, and all cheques should be made payable to EM Direct Ltd
