Young Gifted & Talented
EM Direct is an Accredited Supplier of services to the Young Gifted and Talented Learner Academy which launched on 1 September 2007. The Academy builds on the success of the former National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY), whose contract ended on 31 August 2007.
The Learner Academy is part of the exciting new national programme for Gifted and Talented Education, funded and supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. The new Academy is open to a wider age range, including learners from 4 to 19 years old. It aims to provide for up to the top 10% of gifted and talented (G&T) learners in each school or college andt is dedicated to providing opportunities, within and beyond the classroom, for gifted and talented children and young people.
The focus of the Academy is to make sure that gifted and talented learners aged 4 to 19 have every opportunity to recognise, use and develop their gifts and talents, wherever they come from and whatever school or college they are in.
Learners become members of the Academy and can then access through an on line catalogue a range of activities that best suits them.
EM Direct, working also in partnership with Dale Carnegie Training, offers an exciting range of innovative programmes suitable for different age groups that includes:

All programmes are being made available initially in the 3 locations of Grantham (Lincolnshire), Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire) and York. Should there be sufficient applications for any of these programmes from other areas, including outside the UK – e.g. International Schools, EM Direct will be pleased to discuss arrangements for delivering these programmes at a suitable venue.
