Our Mission Statement

We aim to provide the highest quality training and professional services to organisations and individuals involved in education and child care, working in partnership with them to achieve their goals.

Our Experience Is Our Track Record

Our Directors, Heads of Service and Senior Professional Staff have substantial experience as school leaders, local authority officers or advisers, so have a comprehensive understanding of the requirement for continuing professional development, and meeting the personal training needs of staff employed in today’s schools and child care settings.

We have an extensive network of Consultants based in the Midlands, East Anglia, Yorkshire and the North East which supplements our experienced Head Office team located in Grantham.

Government Contracts

EM Direct has been contracted by Government Agencies since 1999 to deliver a range of contracts:

  • TDA Accredited Provider for the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP). Our allocation for 2011/2012 is 200 places, making EM Direct the second largest EBITT in the country.
  • NCSL Licensee for the delivery of the suite of School Business Management Workshops in the East Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber, North East and Eastern Regions 2011/2013.
  • TDA provider of Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (2009/2012), and new for 2012 - Modern Languages.
  • CWDC approved provider of Training and Assessment for Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) in the East Midlands and the Yorkshire & Humber Regions 2006/2011.

We have also been contracted by the TDA as a provider for the following programmes before they were discontinued in 2010/11:

  • Student Associate Scheme across the East Midlands, East Yorkshire and Tees Valley – 2003 to 2011.
  • Return to Teaching Courses – over 100 courses delivered in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln between 2002 and 2011.
  • Teaching Taster Courses – over 40 courses delivered between 1999 & 2010
  • Mathematics Development Programme for Teachers – 3 courses run in York and Cumbria, in partnership with York St John University and Bishop Grosseteste University College – 2009 to 2011.
  • HLTA Regional Provider of Assessment in the East Midlands between 2006 and 2009 (in partnership with the University of Northampton), and approved provider of Preparation and Training.
  • "One to One Tuition" – pilot provider of training for those not holding QTS to become tutors in primary and secondary schools (2009 – 2010).

EM Direct's Portfolio of Training and Consultancy

  • Preferred Supplier to the Career Transition Partnership supporting resettlement of military personnel into new careers in teaching and early years.
  • Provision of Courses for CfBT School Improvement Service for Teachers and Teaching Assistants in Lincolnshire and Rutland.
  • GCSE Equivalency Testing for ITT and Early Years applicants in English, Mathematics and Science.
  • Bespoke Training and Educational Consultancy Services meeting the needs of individual schools, academies and Local Authorities.
  • Consultancy for Halton Local Authority for reorganisation of the School Improvement Service.
  • Management of the Advanced Skills Teacher Programme for the East Riding of Yorkshire Local Authority (2004 – 2008).
  • Professional Training Centre used by other organisations for the delivery of their conferences and training courses.
